Wedding pre shoot at Fletcher Moss gardens

A couple of months ago I met Emily and Luke at Fletcher Moss park for a pre wedding shoot. Like many people they were not overly comfortable with having their photos takes, a feeling I fully understand because I’m not either, the best place for me is defiantly behind the camera!.

Looking at the images though you would never know would you, HERE they are. After 15 minutes or so we all relaxed into it and it felt completely natural, this feeling just carried on from the first minute when I arrived at Didsbury House Hotel for the wedding.

Didsbury House Hotel Wedding

Emily has planned this wedding with military precision (yes rather stereotypically is usually the bride that sorts everything!) so much so that on the day everyone was so chilled out it was lovely. Emily and Luke totally trusted me to do my thing and I think that that is reflected in this set of images. It was so clear on the day that this lovely couple are utterly perfect for each other.

This was borne out later when they recited the vows they has written for each other there wasn’t a dry eye in the house and include myself in that, its a good job these fancy modern cameras focus themselves because I could not see what I was doing!

Actual singing and dancing at a wedding, nice.

The affection that people had for these two was apparent all day, non more so when it was time for the dancing. At some weddings this can be a tame affair with two people clinging onto each other wishing that the song would end soon(by the way if you feel that this is going to be you then don’t do it, you don’t need to!). This was not the case for Luke and Emily, it was a fairly small room where the great band had set up, I made sure I was there early to get a good spot to photograph them and pretty soon the room was full with over 100 people. When this lovely couple started to dance the cheer that went up in such a small space really took me by surprise, its been such long time since I heard a crowd cheer and clap it really was a moment I will never forget, it was very very loud. I suspect everyone who attended this wedding will have many moments to savour and I hope these images help preserve in the memory what was a really special and unforgettable day.
