When we heard Sarah and Rogers plans to have their wedding ceremony at Eyam church and reception at the stunning Cressbrook Hall in Derbyshire, we were thrilled that they had asked us to photograph their day. What a day it was. It was everything they had planned for and more. Cressbrook Hall is simply an amazing place for a wedding, this Tudor style mansion set in woodlands has amazing views over the Peak District and is a real hidden gem.
We had met up in The Peak District with Roger and Sarah a few times (any excuse!), so we knew just what fab venues they had chosen and had a feel for the style of wedding it was going to be. We were glad that this was going to be our second wedding of the year as it would have been hard for us to wait any longer.
Arriving at Cressbrook Hall a few hours early was lovely: we enjoyed walking round the grounds photographing the details. After a pretty rainy week the sun made an appearance and stayed for the day.
Sarah’s Mum was helping Sarah with the final touches, so when we entered the grand room we were lost for words as she looked so beautiful.
Back at Eyam Church Roger’s nerves were being calmed by his many groomsmen and best man who looked splendid in their vintage style suits. Eyam is a lovely village and the church is very picturesque. Its also a famous one too with a very interesting story to tell.
The service was very laid back and it was quite clear to everyone present that Sarah and Roger are absolutely made for each other, its hard to think of a better suited couple. Some of Sarah’s pupils sang, and this was a really touching and personal part of the service
We left the guests in Eyam eating home made cake and chatting whilst we set off to the stunning Monsal Head and The Cavendish Hotel, both of which have a great significance to this lovely couple so it was great to get these shots. They even managed to get some ice cream (served by one of Sarah’s ex students) which made a great photo opportunity.
Back at Cressbrook Hall the guests were enjoying the grounds, especially the children who were having a ball. We took a few more photos here before the speeches and and a very tasty meal. Particular highlight was the Bakewell tart and custard. If you have never had proper Bakewell Tart (from Bakewell) then you are missing a real treat!
We left Sarah and Roger dancing their socks off along with a full dance floor. We wish the lovely Sarah and Roger all our very best wishes. This is a wedding we will never forget.

WOW! These photos are INCREDIBLE! We are so excited to see the full array from the day now!
Thank you so much for photographing our wedding. It felt like we had two friends joining our celebration, and we really appreciated you coming over to Bakewell on different occasions to help with the prep.! Our families thought that you were both ace; you really ‘blended in’ and captured our nearest and dearest at their best: as themselves, naturally!
You had some brilliant ideas for different shots and clearly have a talent and artistic flair when it comes to photography. It’s clear that it’s more that just a job to you both.
Thanks again for these wonderful photos and also the blog. It’s a great little momento of the day from start to almost finish ( there was so much dancing after you left!)
Can’t wait to see all the snaps and relive it all again.
Thanks Tim and Amanda
