Festival Style Wedding
I had another lovely trip last weekend over to the beautiful Croston Village. I’ve shot quite a few weddings in Croston and Alison and Danny’s was my second festival style wedding in a row. Its a trend thats catching on and you can really see why. So when Alison and Danny came to me for some artistic creative Festival style wedding photography I was absolutely delighted.
The lovely Croston Village
As far as weddings go Alison and Danny pretty much had it sussed, they live in the quaint picturesque Lancashire village of Croston where they seemed to know everybody. They got married in the lovey St Michaels and all Angels Church in the centre of the village, this is a church that always seems to get really forward thinking and relaxed priests which always makes a difference to the photographs. Then a short walk away after stopping for a drink in one of the local pubs, was the Twin Lakes Velo Cafe where waiting for the guests next to the lake was a lovely Teepee set out in the grounds where the afternoons festivities would start and end late into the night. So really they had everything they needed within 5 minutes of their home, how lucky. You have to have a vision though for how the day is going to look and feel and you have to say Alison and Danny nailed it. There was lots of style, lots of friends and family, it was relaxed, friendly, musical, fun and absolute joy to be part of it.
Wedding preparations
In the morning I flirted between venues in Croston village to catch with the couple pre ceremony, some of the images you see of Alison were in her Mum’s house where her lovely back garden oasis provided me with some great shots. Danny meanwhile was waiting with friends in one of his very local pubs. Back then with Alison for the final getting ready images and it was the short walk with bridesmaids and family to the church. Alison was definitely one of the most nerve free, composed and cool brides I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with and now we could add extremely stylish and gorgeous to her long list of attributes, its easy to see why Danny was looking so happy all day and why this lovely couple have so many good friends.
One man band
After the lovely ceremony the one man band was a genius addition to the day and really made the walk back to The Velo Cafe and around Croston such fun and made for some great photographs. Back at the Twin Lakes Velo Cafe the wedding soon got into in full swing with food, speeches and dancing. We have had such a good summer so far and it was still hot and sunny when I left this really helped with the relaxed festival feel of this fab wedding.
Alison and Danny, thank you so much for asking me to be part of your day, I’d been looking forward to it for ages and it didn’t disappoint in any way, I wish you all the happiness you deserve in the future, and that is LOTS.
