Lawn games, sun, a beautiful bride and handsome groom, a great venue and a fun crowd make a great recipe for an amazing wedding. We got all this and then some for Neill and Gemma’s Saddleworth wedding.
I guess we knew we were going to get some great images as we had recently done an Engagement Shoot for Gemma and Neill in the hills above our studio. During that session is was clear that Neill and Gemma were a creative couple and came up with lots of ideas of their own, Neill brought his guitar along too as music was a constant theme running through this lovely wedding. Neill didn’t really do a speech he sang a song that himself and Gemma had composed, it was a really nice touch. Neill had recorded some music and produced some CD’s which they had left on the table for all their guests along with a cover featuring their silhouette, how talented is that.
The ceremony took place at St Anne’s, Lydgate. Its a really nice church not far from us, in fact I used to go to scouts there! Gemma is obviously well liked as a teacher as some of the children came to the wedding. It was such a lovely service with some heartfelt readings. After the congratulations and the confetti we followed Neill and Gemma in their stylish vintage car up to a local beauty spot called Dovestone Reservoir which is within the Peak District National Park. We are very lucky to have it right on our doorstep, it’s stunning. We all really enjoyed our couples portraits session and pretty much picked up where we left off on our Engagement shoot. We had fun watching Neill heel clicking, he could win a competiiton with the height he got
We arrived back at The Huntsman in Holmfirth a picture perfect scene as the guests were enjoying the lawn games in the sun. It was and just how our creative bride and groom had planned.
With the speeches and singing over and the dancing well under way we bade goodbye to our lovely couple and made the short journey home safe in the knowledge that we had captured a pretty special day. Gemma and Neill we wish you all the future happiness you deserve, you are amazing.
