Basically if you would like your day covered in an artistic way but with minimum impact to the natural flow of the wedding we may be able to work together.

The Yeldesley Hall Wedding of Ruth and Mike

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of returning to  Yeldersley Hall to shoot  the wedding of the fab Ruth and Mark. It really was one of those days when everything fell into place (not by accident, I’m sure Ruth had planned all this).

The Golden Hour

The beauty of a winter wedding is that lovely low golden sun, the slight disadvantage is the cold and the photographer not being able to feel his fingers but Ill quickly gloss over that! Photographers call this the ‘golden hour’, and for Mike and Ruth this light lasted about 3 hours which was lovely. This is a couple that did things their way at this Yeldersley Hall wedding, driven as we learned in the great speeches in no small part by Ruth’s single mindedness, if Carlsberg did weddings then this would how they would do it (sorry Ruth, for the bad drinks industry reference!).

Yeldersley Hall

Yeldesley Hall is a truly lovely building set in over 700 acres of land, so there was lots to choose from when Ruth and Mike decided to have their ceremony outside in some nearby woodlands, I’m sure you will see from these images that it was pretty magical with that lovely light. Mike, Ruth and their lovely one year old daughter live in Canada and with some of their friends had made the journey overfed this Yeldersley Hall wedding, I met them both before the wedding ceremony and as it  was due to be taking place in the fading light we took the opportunity to have 30 minutes together for a mini shoot, which they relaxed straight into, it was lovely to have the luxury of a pre shoot actually on the wedding day, this is another trend that is becoming more popular.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

As I said the ceremony was pretty special. People do often ask me what are the coming wedding trends and I really think that this is the way to go, along with the pre wedding ceremony shoot, a blessing outside wherever you choose really does add a magical element to the day. We are all there to see a couple affirm their love for each other and when you can write your own vows and choose where and how you get married it adds a pretty special and uniquely magical experience that only a wedding can offer and I have to say Yeldesley Hall is just about perfect for this.

I only had the pleasure of this wedding for a short time as this was a part day shoot (its amazing how much you can pack into 4 hours isn’t it!), so I left right after the speeches with a warm glow that will take me through to me new wedding season in 2019.

So thanks for that Mike and Ruth and I  wish huge happiness from the bottom of my heart, you deserve it, you are great together, the perfect fit. It was a pleasure sharing this magical day with you and your lovely guests (thanks for looking after me Ruth’s Mum 🙂
