ABOUT US  & OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE

Welcome to Tim Simpson Photography! There are two of us, Tim and Amanda and we specialise in wedding and portrait photography. We photograph weddings over the whole of the UK – we seem to have travelled to every area. This suits us as we love travelling. We describe our  images as being a little bit different and having a lovely vintage look with a chic feel – perfect for todays wedding photography. Dont take our word for it – our work has consistently won awards, aren’t we modest! Hitched voted us top 10 wedding photographer of 2012.

Our photography is created by a good eye for detail, advanced techniques such as back lighting and creative editing. We combine a natural reportage style with more creatively styled shots. During the day we  also photograph all the extra details that are personal to you and make your wedding special. We also capture HD video which looks really cinematic and some clips of the key moments of your day, which will to add to your memories. We both photograph weddings as the main shooter, sometimes we work together which we love sometimes we work apart which is also good.

We provide colour and black and white photographs, according to your preference. We understand that having your photo taken can make you a bit nervous, we understand this and are really keen to put you at ease. We are warm and friendly meaning that you relax which allows your personalities to shine through on your photographs.

Our studio and gallery is  in a pretty listed weavers cottage in the picturesque village of Uppermill, on the edge of the Pennines. We also have a base in sunny Eastbourne in East Sussex.

OUR INTERESTS AND HOBBIES

Amanda (Written by Tim) Other little facts about us. Amanda loves chocolate, going to art galleries and  films. She has had a rally car in the past and likes driving a bit fast. She used to ride horses and do a bit of show jumping. Her main bad habit is she can be a bit untidy. Oh and she is a perfectionist. But I guess that is a good thing for your wedding photography!

Tim (Written by Amanda) Tim absolutely loves photography and always has a camera of one kind or another on him. He loves Vintage scooters and has won a national scooter racing Championship with his beloved Lambretta. Tim likes The Wedding Present – oo how apt, and mod music. He is very warm hearted and a people pleaser. His main bad habit is collecting too many old cameras!

GREEN FACTS

We do try to be as environmentally conscious  as we can, we live and work in the same building, so our journey to work involves leaving through the first floor door, walking down the stairs and entering the ground floor studio and gallery. One of our album  suppliers is  ’Folio‘  who are a local firm who source all their materials from the local area. Our car is class 1 type which has very low emissions and high mpg. We  do not print off any unnecessary photographs and do our proofing online so our clients do not have to travel to us. We have our own high quality printer which saves on using a lab for display prints and all the extra recourses and delivery miles this takes. Tim even rides a 1971 Lambretta that he has had for 20 years.
