It’s a lovely thing to do to combine your wedding with a New Years Eve party, weddings are a lovely family affair and throw New Years Eve into the mix it just adds something a bit more special. Jed and Emma’s wedding at The Lowry Hotel In Manchester was certainly done in style.
This style was very evident when I arrived at Emma and Jed’s apartment in Halifax, the place was buzzing with excited chatter as family and bridesmaids were having make up and hair expertly done by Emma. It was easy to fall into our reportage style when everyone is so friendly, we love to shoot as if we were guests and when you get treated as if you were a friend from the start you just know the days images are going to be winners, and we always have champagne for breakfast too!
I waited for Emma to get into her stunning dress and made my way back over the Pennines to St Johns Church, which is very local to us, its a lovely church and the Vicar is a character to say the least.
After the ceremony we all made our way to The Lowry, it’s stunning hotel and the perfect setting for a New Years Eve Wedding. Here we took some great images of Emma and Jed on the magnificent Trinity Bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava.
Back in the hotel the guests were assembling in the wedding breakfast room, it really did look like a winter wonderland complete with reindeer statues and lit fantastically all in blue. After the speeches and meal it was time for the evenings entertainment to begin, the soulful covers band were spot on and really knew just how to get the crowd going, so much so that the New Year came all to quickly. Jed and Emma had warned us about the confetti bomb due to go off at midnight so we had all our flashes set up ready, its pretty much a one shot deal so we were pleased when the shot of the midnight celebrations came out really nicely. It was a great ending to a lovely stylish family wedding. Thank you Emma and Jed for asking is to be part of your fabulous day, it was pretty special.
