Helen & Ryan’s wedding at the Woodlands Boutique Hotel in Leeds was an intimate and very warm day full of lots of laughter and humour. We were thrilled to be working for such a great bunch of people (Helen & Ryan’s family and friends included) and everyone made us feel very welcome indeed. The setting of the Woodlands Hotel was beautiful, in a really grand building with lovely interiors and beautiful grounds.
Before we got to the hotel however, we arrived at Helen’s Mum’s house to get some candid shots of the bridal party getting ready for the day ahead. The house was very homely with lots of lovely personal items adorning the rooms giving it a very cosy feel. You could feel the excitement bubbling in the room whilst the gang were getting all spruced up. After hair & make-up, we headed over to the Woodlands to get some shots of the guests and also a very cool and collected Ryan having some drinks at the bar before the ceremony. When Helen arrived, we got to see her in her beautiful lace, fitted dress with elegant waistband- she looked amazing (as expected!). It was then time for one of the most emotional parts of the day (for us anyway!)- the bride and her Dad walking down the aisle. When our couple’s see each other for the first time it’s such a beautiful moment to watch and capture.
The ceremony was light hearted but still very meaningful and heartfelt, with many laughs shared amongst the guests and the Bride & Groom (and a few tears, too!). Then, after the ceremony it was time to grab the newlyweds for some relaxed, natural style (an a few semi-posed and styled) couple’s portraits. Helen and Ryan really dived into this part of the day which we were thrilled about as we came out with some fantastic results that really capture their spirit and relationship (plenty of shots mid-laugh!). Next, it was time for some grub! When we went into the beautiful Marquee where the guests got settled before their meals, there were several details organised by the couple that stood out to us. The main one being the table plan! It was a really quirky idea to have a kind of tower of plants, each pot representing a table and containing sticks with guests names printed on. We thought this was a lovely touch. The wooden confetti on the tables also added an organic and nature related feel to their wedding. The speeches followed the meal where there was yet more humour, and you could just see the amazing relationship not only between Helen and Ryan, but between their families, too.
After the speeches it was time for some dancing and live music. The band were fab and added some cool reggae vibes to the wedding which got everyone on their feet. What a fun wedding we had!
We are really thankful towards Ryan & Helen for allowing to share such a special day with them both by allowing us to capture it for them.
We wish them both the absolute best for the future and a big CONGRATS!
