John and Lorna’s Wedding Photographs from the fabulous Swinton Park Hotel, Masham

It has to be said that shooting wedding photographs at Swinton Park Castle Hotel was an absolute pleasure added to the fact that John and Lorna’s laid back approach and sense of humour made this a day to remember for everyone.

This unique day had a few different aspects to it, starting with the drinks reception which Lorna and John attended together, Lorna in a gorgeous purple satin dress. Pimms and crocket on the lawn to the accompaniment of a sax and double bass player, how very enjoyable made all the better by some much needed and welcome sun.

The next part was the wedding ceremony, Lorna was in one of Swinton Parks magnificent rooms applying the finishing touches of make up and generally relaxing with close family round her. This can be quite a nervous time but not for Lorna who’s sense of humour just shines through. In 20 years of wedding photography I have never attended a more humours ceremony which really is a testament to how Lorna and John get on as a couple. Elvis Presley was also sung during the ceremony, most of the guests did not know that this was coming (well you would’t would you) but all joined in when they were not laughing.

Leaving the guests to enjoy the hospitality we took the newly married couple for a short walk up to the walled garden behind the hotel where got some fab staged pics for the album. The wild flowers looked great and really set of Lornas dress and bouquet.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches (and slide show) the party got underway and we mingled with the evening guests and photographed the dancing, the DJ was cooking up a storm and it looked set for a fitting end to a great day.
