Katie and Richard’s Wedding at Manchester Town Hall

We met Katie in the foyer of the Edwardian Radison Blu in Manchester.  We usually photograph the bridal preparations but Katie preferred us not to, so for us it was different seeing a bride for the first time already in her dress. She took our breath away in her Fifties Duchesse Corsage Dress by Suzannah.

Whilst waiting, Tim had spotted a great shot in front of two large paintings so when Katie and family stood in front of them he was ready to capture it. We  could tell already it was going to be a very good day.

Amanda was busy photographing at  at the magnificent Manchester Town Hall where Richard was waiting. The ceremony was wonderful, the registrar highlighted the historic nature of the building  and so we amassed a real sense of where they were getting married.
In the previous week we had bought some large colourful lollipops from Chatsworth so after the ceremony we put them to good use, sometimes you just have to embrace the cheese!
We took advantage of the fact that they are filming a new Frankenstein film starring  James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe  there was a  great film set for it in the basement. We all jumped at the chance to use it for some quirky wedding shots.
The best men and Richard got in the undertakers window while we got Katie to pose in the doorway and give her best model poses. We love the contrast between dark and the light and were so gals we had this small window of opportunity.  It will be great to see the film and remember the day again.
The speeches were at once heartfelt from Katie’s Dad and Richard. The reminiscing  by the two best men caused Richard some discomfort but it’s lovely to hear such  a personal speech with lots of reference to his youth as a music loving hard working devotee of Katie. Oh and they had both seen Nirvana live, pretty cool in our books!
After the speeches it was soon time for the first dance in front of the fab looking LOVE symbol. As lovers of good music Katie and Richard chose a Breeders tune which we had never heard at a wedding before. It sounded great and they were having a ball dancing to it. Its the last image on the post and its already won a competition!
All the very best Katie and Richard, yours is a wedding with such great memories.
