We ran a light painting workshop as the Northern Light Painters www. with Dora da Cruz at DiGIT fest at The Lowry, Manchester on June 10th 2011. We are also there on June 12th. Please come and join us! We have had the chance to meet other artists and expand our opportunities to collaborate with them on projects. We have met Matt from ani motion. He does some great animation films and we are hoping to make a small light painting animation with him on Sunday.
Hi! Thank you for the workshop on 10th of June! When are you going to put pictures? 🙂 Can’t wait to see them!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it, the feed back we got was amazing and we were really thrilled at the creativity of the people who had a go – we always learn from them. We will post a link to the photos when The Lowry have put them up on their website. This was also a workshop where we had Annabelle, our youngest (10 months old!) participant. We got some time to participate in some of the other activities, we were next door to students from MMU who were doing some really great things.
I’ve written a write up on my blog with a photo. The workshop was fantastic. You and Amanda were so enthusiastic and encouraging and explained and gave advice so that we got so much out of the experience. The combination of having you and Dora there worked very well indeed.
I think so many people would benefit from this experience. Very liberating, fun, challenging in some ways and seeing the effects immediately on the screenwas a massive plus because you could straight away learn what worked best by seeing the light effects and then put that into practice. Seeing rather then verbally explaining in something like this is much clearer. Loved it.
