This year certainly has started off with a bang for us as far as brilliant weddings in magnificent venues go. When you approach Capesthorne Hall you know you are in for something a bit special, it’s a most romantic and picturesque setting and perfect for a lovely couple like Kathryn and Ben.
We met Kathryn in the bridal Rooms upstairs at the hall where she was getting ready with her two bridesmaids. They were putting the finishing touches to the their make up, drinking champagne and generally having a lovely time.
Downstairs, guests were gradually arriving and having drinks in the reception area. There was an excited buzz as people caught up with friends and family to the accompaniment of a violin player.
Kathryn really did look fantastic as she made her way from the Bridal Room down to the ceremony with her proud Dad. We all thought there was a definite look of Audrey Hepburn about her.
No matter what type of wedding you photograph, there are always key moments from the day. The moment the groom sees the bride for the first time is always one and Kathryn certainly took Ben’s (and everyone else’s) breath away as she entered the room.
After a lovely ceremony we all went out onto the terrace for drinks amidst this magnificent setting. We took this opportunity to spend some time with Ben and Kathryn photographing them in the large and beautiful grounds. There were so many varied photo opportunities we are all in our element. We managed to get many great images in a relatively short amount of time, it was great fun. Ben and Kathryn have an obvious great love for each other and this was really reflected in the photos. Amanda was shooting video and Bek and Tim also got to film and times through the day. We used a mixture of hand held and locked off shots for a dynamic feel video which is currently being edited.
Oh and the cake, lets not forget that. It’s by Suzanne Thorp, a thing of beauty for sure as always. We have photographed some of Suzanne’s cakes for her website. We could tell from the other side of the room that it was one of hers. It was amazing.
After the speeches, it was time for the dancing with a great live band. Its a lovely feeling travelling home from a wedding knowing you have captured some great images from a memorable day. It was our first time at Capesthorne Hall and we hope to return soon.
