What a beautiful country we live in and does it get much better than the Lake District does it, no I thought not! It was an absolute privilege to shoot Charlotte and Leon’s wedding in Grassmere at the Wordworth Hotel. Charlotte is such a warm lovely, pretty person and Leon is a pretty cool customer, so we were really looking forward to this day. We had met them quite a few times in the run up to the wedding and we had been to the hotel the week before on our way back from light painting at Kendal Calling festival so were all set for a fab day and we were not dissapointed.
When we got to The Wordsworth Hotel Charlotte met us with a cheery relaxed smile and we got down to photographing the preparations, we even went to the brides Mum room to take some photos as she was having her hair done by the Brides Father who is a hairdresser so you can be sure everyones hair looked fabulous .
Tim went over to see Leon and his Ushers and Best Man getting ready and then walking to the Church whilst leaving Amanda and Bekka with Charlotte for the last 15 minutes.
St Oswalds is a lovely church and the Vicar was great letting us photograph wherever we liked, we always respect the ceremony but it’s nice to have the run of the place!
After the ceremony leaving the guests to have drinks on the lawn being photographed my Bekka we had a lovely drive round the Lakes to some places already known to Charlotte and Leon. They are such a fun stylish
couple and this really shows in the photos.
Back at the hotel it was soon speech time and there really were some very funny moments and props, one of the highlights though was Charlotte playing the trumpet which she has just started to learn, well done Charlotte .
After the meal we shot our popular photo booth which went down great with this crowd, there wasn’t a minute where we weren’t photographing someone. We print out the photographs instantly as Polaroids and put them in a guest book for people to sign, reading through afterwards there were some great comments.
The covers band were going down a storm when we left, hope you all had a great party. We look forward to a return to the Lakes next year we have a few weddings already booked at The Inn at Whitewell one of our favourite venues, if they are good as Charlotte and Leon’s we are in for a treat.
