When Sarah and Ben booked us for their wedding photography, they said they had booked a really quirky venue. I looked at the images of the Crab and Lobster on line and saw the beautiful grounds and Hall and loved it too. However, nothing prepared us for seeing it in the flesh. It really is the most fantastical place to go. Everything from beautiful old baths set in the woodlands and filled with plants, to deer’s heads in bedrooms to stunning breass diving helmets to walls and nooks and crannies filled with oddities and delights. This is a pale to go to marvel and to wonder. Just be careful of the friendly skeleton in the old pram above your head. Most people go here for the good food. When we met up with them, we were both like excited schoolchildren and couldn’t wait to see all the fanatastic places and backdrops that we will use for their images on their wedding day. The day we met was really cold with snow coming down. We headed up the road to the beautiful Rieavaulx Abbey, but stayed inside the visitors cafe because of the rain. Cram teas all round though! Can’t wait till their wedding in 8 weeks time!
