Katie and Nicks Wedding at Upwaltham Barns
Katie and Nicks international affair was a second visit to photograph a wedding Upwaltham Barns in just a couple of weeks. It was a very welcome return too, Upwaltham Barns are looking fantastic in full bloom, they must be a contender for a horticultural prize surely. I’m very tempted to say that they were only outshone by the radiant beauty of Katie and whilst true that would be way to corny wouldn’t it so we won’t go there!
So with the radiant Katie and the blooming wonderful Upwaltham Barns all we needed was a dashing groom and Australian Nick did not disappoint in any way. Nick and his groomsmen all looked very dapper. It was a very hot and sunny day but Nick and his party took this all in their stride managing to look pretty cool all day, an advantage of being used to much hotter weather than we can throw at them one presumes!
We met Katie in Jasmin Cottage a couple of hours before the ceremony where she was getting ready for the day, its always a lovely part of the wedding day and a real honour to share it in some small way. We had already discussed with Katie the style of images we were going to create together so we were able to produce some great looking shots in no time at all.
After the lovely ceremony where Nick and Katie read out there own vows to each other, which was lovely and very moving ( we often have to take photographs looking through teary eyes!), everyone congregated in the courtyard at the barns and caught up with friends old and new. Many of the guests had flown from Australia which is a real testament to the sort of people Katie and Nick are.
Just as we were about to steal off with the newlyweds for our styled wedding shoot the heavens opened in a big way so it was time to get even more creative with the photos and with a willing bride and groom we managed to get some great shots, we even managed to get back outside in the lovely gardens for 10 minutes later on when the sun came out again. It got so sunny that we were able to shoot the photo booth outside in the courtyard . This always creates a great atmosphere and produces a great looking photo booth guest book full of fun polaroid style images.
After the Photo Booth the band started and they were very good, doing a lot of their own numbers and getting the crowd on their feet right from the start, when we left Katie and Nick were in the thick of it on the full dance floor, the guests were really entering into the spirit, but I guess if you have flown half way round the world (and your Australian) then your going to make sure its a party to remember.

What can we say. We hardly knew you were there for the day but the photos we have seen so far are really beautiful and just what we wanted. You went with the flow of the day no matter what direction that took. A sign of truly great photographers. We are so excited to see the rest of the photos in a month or so.
TThank you for photographing our special day aand giving us beautiful photos to treasure forever
