This weekend we found ourselves back at the super cosy White Hart in Lydgate to photograph the stylish wedding of Leigh & James. I have to say, I think Leigh wins the award for “most organised bride of the year” as up to the day we had exchanged many emails planning all the details, which is fab- we love an organised bride, she must be well known for this as it was mentioned in the speeches!
James and Leigh are a couple who are full of laughs and so obviously in love, it was a pleasure to spend the day photographing them. We began photographing at Leigh’s Grandma’s house where the girls shared a bottle of fizz (or 4!) to calm the nerves whilst getting ready, and they all looked stunning. Leigh’s dress was a beautiful Maggie Sottero fitted lace number with a certain vintage charm to it and it suited her to a tee. After a few more glasses of fizz and last minute spruce ups we headed to the ceremony which took place at St.Anne’s in Lydgate. We felt comfortable the whole day really as both the ceremony venue and the reception venue are very familiar to us and just round the corner from the studio.
The ceremony was lovely and heartfelt with some gorgeous words about “What Love Is” written by both James and Leigh- it was really nice to hear each of their definitions of the word and brought a tear to many eyes in the congregation. After the ‘I dos’ and a quick confetti shot we all headed back to the White Hart. On the way we stopped off in Uppermill by the canal near the Lime Kiln for some creative couple’s portraits with James & Leigh who were great sports. I think we must take the area we live in for granted as we have surprisingly never used this area for a wedding shoot before but it looks so stunning in the images and makes a real impact! I think we must forget about it because it’s right under our noses- lesson learned!
Onto the reception and some lovely grub, speeches and a whole load of dancing. We also provided the guests with a Photo Booth which was awesome fun.
Thanks a mill for having along on your journey Leigh & James. We hope you had a blast- we certainly did!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
