Photographing a fun warm couple like Lucy and Paul at a place like Chatsworth House is just an absolute dream for a wedding photographer. The Peak District is often the place where we go to relax, Chatsworth House is a particular favourite of ours so we were super pleased that Lucy and Paul asked us to be part of their plans. Even more so after we had met them, they are such a lovely friendly couple. In fact they said ‘we really love your style of photography it’s perfect for us, we just want you to do whatever you want to do on our day and we know the photographs will be great’.
We joined Lucy in the morning getting ready at the Rutland Arms in Bakewell, she wore a gorgeous vintage inspired lace gown with matching bolero. The guys were getting ready at a lovely cottage in Youlgreave only a few minutes away from the local church.
The ceremony featured some heartfelt readings and some beautiful readings from friends. The vicar was also quite a character and had everyone laughing along.
After the ceremony Lucy and Paul drove to Chatsworth House in a cream vintage Morris Minor. Watching them travel down Chatsworth’s long sweeping drive you could have easily been in the 1950’s. We all stopped on the drive and took some fun shots near the folly .
It was great to get a golf buggy to travel round the grounds, it certainly helped us make the most the gardens that Capability Brown had kindly provided for us. Lucy and Paul’s sense of fun really shone through here and they had a great time dancing around between the daffodils with Chatsworth House as a magnificent backdrop.
After the meal and speeches (Paul’s brother ,his best man did a great job) the guests made their way outside and had great fun with sparklers. We made the most of these shots with our light painting experience. In fact a little later we did a fab light painting shot using our new home made light painting machine.
When we left the party was in full swing courtesy of the band Madison.
Lucy and Paul are honeymooning in Thailand, hope this blog post brings back some wonderful memories for you both.
