This week was a fab sunny Sussex wedding for us at the glorious Buxted Park Hotel in Sussex. We will start with a bit of an admission, perhaps we shouldn’t but there you go… When working with a bride as naturally beautiful as Sarah and a handsome groom like Khalefth our jobs become a little easier, throw in a stunning place like Buxted Park Hotel and our work as reportage wedding photographers becomes a bit of a dream really- there we said it!
We arrived at Buxted Park early on the wedding day to set up the photo booth and have a good look round, we were very impressed with what we saw, as photographers to us the grounds are as important or perhaps more so than the architecture or the inside of the building, there was a lot to go at.
Sarah was getting ready in a grand room upstairs at Buxted with a stunning view and lots of lovely light streaming through the windows. She was very calm and collected as her bridesmaids were excitedly getting ready, chatting, sipping champagne and blowing up balloons, it was a lovely atmosphere.
Sarah and Khalefth were getting married in St Margaret’s Church which was almost in the grounds of the hotel so not far for us all to go. The church was really lovely and full of chatting guests and Khalefth waiting in anticipation of his beautiful bride when we arrived- and boy did she look beautiful in her figure hugging lace dress.
At this time it’s always good to have two photographers, the shots of Sarah waiting to go into the ceremony were not to be missed. Neither were the shots of Khalefth at the front of the church waiting for the arrival of his bride to be.
After the ceremony, the congratulations and the confetti throwing, it was our time to have a walk round the grounds with Sarah and Khalefth. The bride and groom were keen to get natural looking shots which is what we do best really, its surprising just how much you can get done in ten minutes, we are a well oiled machine 🙂
Something we were keen to capture during the meal was the opera singing waiter and waitress the couple had booked as a surprise to just about everyone. They went down so well and the guests joined in with real gusto and ending in a mass singalong- brilliant!
After the meal we went straight into shooting the photo booth, it’s a good time to do it as there is usually some spare time between the wedding breakfast and the evening dancing beginning. This was certainly one crowd that needed no encouragement what so ever to get stuck in, with many people coming back time and time again with different props and poses. The wedding guestbook filled up very quickly with out fab polaroid style prints.
The evening festivities were carried out to the backdrop of giant light up K and S letters, Sarah and many of her friends are dancers and you could really tell, there were some magnificent shapes being thrown, this was one hell of a stylish wedding.
Khalefth and Sarah we wish you all the very best for the future, you are beautiful people inside and out and you deserve all the happiness in the world.
