A Hot Day in The Lake District

Shooting this Inn on the Lake Wedding, Lake District Photography really did warm the heart, on this occasion too it warmed the skin and bones, man it was warm. I mean I’m ginger and Northern, this was a shock to the system. It shouldn’t have been though just a few weeks before in the heat I got a touch of sun stroke, will I ever learn!, luckily it wasn’t at a wedding so perhaps I do, slightly! I arrived for Ruth and Phil’s Lake District Wedding the day before and the drive into Ullswater is simply stunning, there cant be many better views in the world. The Inn on the Lake

When I arrived in the morning Ruth was taking her much loved dogs for a walk around the Inn at The Lakes grounds and what stunning grounds they are too , this was a great photo opportunity. From then on the photo opportunities didn’t relent all day and night, everything just fell right into place, it  was a wonderful day. The outdoor ceremony in the sun was great and the photo shoot after was really enjoyable and I felt so at home with Ruth, Phil and their families I event stayed well into the night to capture the dancing and to enjoy the party, to be honest I just didn’t want it  to end, it’s days like these that make me really appreciate my job.

Also worth a mention is Tom from The Inn at the Lake who went above and beyond to ensure I got some great images and that the day ran perfectly. Also Ruth said she’s not really a girly girl but you wouldn’t have though so, she looked amazing which was in part helped by the Kesme who handled the make up.

Ruth and Phil, thanks for asking me to be part of your day, I hope these images reflect just what great friendly wedding this was. It was a real pleasure.
