A wedding at Manchester Town Hall is a wonderful thing, especially when the couple involved are a fun loving infectious couple like Jenna and Martin.
Jenna and Martin’s wedding day started and ended at Didsbury House Hotel, another lovely place we have visited many times before. It’s a quirky boutique style hotel and fitted just perfectly with Jenna’s plans, (yes I did say Jenna, Martin later admitted in his speech that the driving force for this wedding was Jenna!) she did a great job of putting together a relaxed fun day that the guests can really enjoy. No cake cutting, no first dance, no endless group shots, no formal meal just a celebration of a great couple.
We arrived nice and early at Didsbury House to get some establishing shots, it’s nice to be able to relax into the day like this. When Jenna first contacted us she said that she absolutely adored our style that basically she just wanted us to turn up and do exactly what we wanted. This always makes for great images and when the couple are totally onboard with our ethos too it really does show in the finished work. We are super pleased with this set of images, we hope you enjoy looking through them and hopefully they will make you smile as much as they do us.
After an hour or so with the bride and the bridesmaids, martin and his groomsmen it was time to leave Didsbury house for Manchester Town Hall but not before we had photographed Jenna in her super stylish dress. Again Jenna proving that you don’t have to go down the traditional wedding route to look fabulous on your day.
After the beautiful ceremony which included a great song played on the ukulele as Jenna entered and some lovely readings it was photos time, oh and check out the shot of the first time Jenna looks at Martin as she walks up the isle, doesn’t that say it all, what a perfect couple.
We had met up a few times to discuss the images and Jenna had sent us lots of ideas via Pinterest so we hit the ground running as far as the couples portraits went. This is an important part of the day for us and a lot happens in just half an hour. We like to take as little time as possible during this session as its important the the bride and groom are not away from their guests for too long. We do find though that this is a part of the day that our bride and grooms really enjoy, as did Martin and Jenna, they really got into the swing of things and it shows.
After a vintage bus ride back to Didsbury House it was party time. There was a barbecue and a table full of cakes that the guests had made and instead of the ‘first dance’ it was the ‘first shot’ where everyone downed a short. Straight after this the dance floor was full. Jenna and Martin love their music and the guests did too, the party was in full swing when we left.
Have a fab honeymoon, you really did put on a brilliant day, we had a ball.xx
