We are super pleased with these images of Alie and Anthony’s Southport Marquee wedding, considering it was raining pretty hard too. The couples portrait part of the day is always a collaboration and this partnership worked extremely well, it was lots of fun. Alie and Anthony (or Woody) are such a fun couple, both of them just light up a room and both are have a great positive outlook on life, this is something that was mentioned in the speeches later on. They are simply the perfect couple.
The day started for Amanda with the Alie and the bridesmaids at the great looking Ramanda Plaza Hotel overlooking the seafront at Southport. Is there a picture of Alie not smiling, we can’t find one and we took 2500 images!
I met Woody and his groomsmen calmly getting ready at his Dads house not far away from the church. The marquee for the celebrations was in Woody’s Dads garden, it was good to photograph the final bits of preparation of the marquee (and the fellas) in the early morning sun, it was a lovely atmosphere helped along in part by the freely available beer on tap in the marquee.
It had been a lovely sunny morning but as the guests were arriving at the church the heavens opened, this though did’t dampen the ardour of this large crowd who had come to see Alie and Anthony tie the not. I had seen Alie only briefly in the morning so I hadn’t caught site of “the dress”, or in this case “trouser suit”. Our Bekka is always extolling the virtue of the trouser suit for a bride but unto now none of our brides have worn one, I guess it takes a certain outlook to do so. We all though Alie looked an absolute picture and pulled it off with great style, so did Woody by the look on his face as Alie walked down the aisle. Again thanks Alie for looking so amazing it’s really helped us produce some award winning images here.
Also worth a mention was the vicar at St Jame’s Church in Southport who held the great service, he was really funny and engaging and totally relaxed about photography too, top fella.
After our photo session on the pier it was back to the marquee where the party had well and truly started and did not relent until the early hours of the morning, this was a crowd who knew how to have a good time, I don’t think we have ever wanted to stay at a party more and we certainly would have done if we did’t have a wedding the day after, it was hard work dragging ourselves away from this wonderful wedding.
Woody and Alie thanks for asking us to be part of your day, I think together we smashed it! You guys are fab and totally deserve each other. xx
