A hometown wedding done with style

Rory and Claire’s fantastic Oldham, Lancashire wedding was so local to me that we actually did ‘the couples shoot’ part of the day where I used to play football as a sporty\spotty youth. For the background of some of the shots we also used the grade 2 listed Lees Brook Mill where the suffragette Annie Kenney worked, how Northern(and cool)is that!

The morning bridal preparations

It’s so nice to be privileged enough to be around the morning activities with all the excitement, nerves and exceptions that happen between the bride, family and bridesmaids. It genuinely is a special time that not many people get to feel and witness.

Having shot many hundreds of weddings I can usually tell from the first few moments how a wedding is going to feel. My first impressions were that this was going to be a fun, relaxed, friendly and stylish affair were certainly confirmed throughout the day right through to the wedding reception and dancing at St Edwards Parish Hall in Lees, I’m pretty sure that this set of images prove that too as there aren’t many where someone isn’t smiling or laughing.

A wedding run with military precision

You can’t help but notice how handsome Rory looked in his dress uniform and his Life Guards and Blues and Royals Regiment groomsmen. In all of my weddings, I’ve not photographed such a military presence, it really did add something special at St Thomas Church.

A picture says a thousand words (hopefully)

As I’m very probably better at photography than writing, I’ll shut up now and let this set of images do the talking. I’m very proud of them and it’s always made easier for me when everyone involved is onboard and ‘gets’ what I’m doing and are relaxed and friendly. I really hope you love them.

Claire and Rory, I wish you all the best, luck and love that you deserve. You are so good together, that is very clear 🙂

Honourable mentions go to Bespoke Wedding Bouquet for helping Claire look incredible and L A Florists for creating beautiful floral arrangements that complimented the day perfectly.
