A fun start to my year

Any and Kev’s Manchester wedding was an utterly brilliant start to the year, it was such good fun for everyone involved and real family wedding too.

I’ve been looking forward to this one ever since Abbie won this wedding with the Manchester Evening News! Yes thats right they won the whole thing how brilliant is that. They really deserved it too, they are such a lovely couple and family.

The preperations

I met Abbie at her Mum’s house in Marple for the preparation shots. It was such a warm atmosphere, there was a lot of love in the house and it was a joy to be part of it. There was something going on in each room so I had a great time wandering around capturing things naturally as they happened.

Ceremony Time

I left leafy Marple in plenty of time to photograph the anxiously waiting Kev at Smokies Hotel. Even the weather was behaving its self for them, it could have been a whole lot worse in winter in Manchester. Luck was definitely shining on this couples wedding.

After the heartfelt ceremony I sneaked off with the bride and groom to do some shots of the happy couple together. I’d already planned to use the nearby Park Bridge Heritage Centre. It was perfect really only being 5 minutes away from the venue..

I always approach this part of the day as if I was photographing my kids just out for the day having fun! I really don’t like highly posed shots they often look quite stiff. So basically we just went to Park Bridge and had a walk, stopping every now and again when the scenery was worthy of a shot.

Photo Booth

After the meal and speeches it was time for fun in the photo booth. I love shooting people having fun in the booth, it helps to that this is later on in the day and perhaps being slightly lubricated aids getting some great shots.

I print out the images right after the shot has been taken and they get put in an album with a message for the the couple to keep. This always goes down really well.

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching

As I fully expected with this crowd the dance floor was full when I left for the evening. They are probably still there now!

Abbie and Kev, thanks for getting my wedding year off with a bang, you two are just perfect together.x
