Just before Christmas, we shot the amazing winter wonderland style wedding of Girl Alex and Boy Alex (now AKA Mr & Mrs Chadwick!!) at the gorgeous St Bartholomew’s Church in Marsden followed but the reception at the Turnpike Inn, west Yorkshire. For us, this was the second to last wedding of 2014 (we had one NYE too!) and was one we had been looking forward to for a long time. After meeting girl Alex and her Mum sometime last year looking round a Denshaw venue (we were there setting up our Photo Booth for a civil partnership at the time!), we’d had many chats and meetings about her wedding day, and we felt like we really got to know Alex as a person and would consider her more as a friend now! After getting to know boy Alex…. well, he’s alright n’all 😉 Those to were absolutely undoubtedly made for each other and their wedding day reflected this to the max.
As I’m sure you can tell from the photos, these two cuties love life and have the best sense of humour, they are a pleasure to be around and beam of happiness whenever you’re around them- a very charming pair indeed! Right from when we arrived at Girl Alex’s Mum’s place in the morning for bridal preps, we were met with a warm welcome (very warm thankfully as it was a bit nippy that day!). Laughter and Champers were flowing and the bond between the family and bridesmaids was so evident. Alex looked stunning, her hair and make-up were done beautifully, Hair by Emma Pemberton and Make-up by Dean Hargreaves Makeup Artist. Alex had a gorgeous and very unusual boho crystal headband round her head. When she got into her dress, she was the perfect bride and looked absolutely stunning. Her gorgeous dress was from Emma Louise Bridal Boutique.
After the prep shots we headed over to the Church to meet an apprehensive but excited Boy Alex and the guests arriving. A really lovely touch to the ceremony was the hot chocolate being offered in the church as well as blankets to keep everyone cosy! Super cute. This part of the day is always a bit of a tear jerker, again I got teary during the ceremony, which was kept very light hearted and by vicar Alan Butler- he was actually my vicar when we had communion services at school and I remembered him well, a very nice man! Nevertheless because I felt we knew the Alexs’ the vows got me all choked up.
After the beautiful ceremony, we then took the opportunity to jump out of the car at several spots on the way to the Turnpike to grab some couples’ portrait shots whilst the light was still on our side! Girl Alex came prepared with her silver wedding wellies and the couple braved the Moors and the outdoors and got stuck in good and proper, embracing all the direction we gave them – and the photos are absolutely amazing!! Well done you two 🙂
Back to the car and en route to the Turnpike, we were excited to get in there and check out the decor as Girl Alex had done a lot of the decor and dressing herself so we were eager to see her creations (and to warm our cockles a little). When we arrived, There were two great big hay Bails dressed up in Bride and Groom clobber outside the venue, organised as a surprise for Girl Alex who didn’t have a clue about them. She was definitely (pleasantly) surprised!
We entered the lovely cosy Turnpike and the guests were enjoying a natter and a few Bevvys before being called in the room for some grub and speeches. The speeches at the Alexs’ wedding were amongst our favourite of the year, especially Best Man no.2’s song he’d prepared on the Ukulele for the couple- it was hilarious and have everyone in stitches, us included. We did a wintery Christmas Photo Booth for the pair and the guests certainly weren’t shy! All sorts of poses and shenanigans were being thrown around- it was fab. Then it was time for some serious partying with some great live music and of course the first dance. We departed the wedding in good spirits after a glass of wine and a bit of a dance, and the party was in full swing.
A MASSIVE congrats to you both Alex and Alex, we enjoyed your wedding millions and you are truly amazing people. We hope you had a lovely Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
See you soon 🙂
