If you have planned a wedding yourself you will know how much goes into it, we often think in a way its harder to get an intimate wedding right. Much of the feel of the wedding comes from the venue, so in choosing to have their wedding at The Star In, Harome, North Yorkshire Adele and Kirk got the venue and food part of the day absolutely spot on. What you need then is some fun loving family and friends so share your day with. Again this was ticked off the list so all this then equals the perfect day, and it was , it was just brilliant. Lets not forget the fact the sun shone all day in a cloudless blue sky too to top it all off.
The day started at Hawkhills Country House in Easingwold, with Clay Pigeon Shooting, Segway Riding and Quad Biking for the kids. What a fun morning it was too, we even got a try at the events which was an lovely unexpected surprise. Every wedding day should start like this it such brilliant fun and everyone had a ball.
We had a lovely comment recently from Emily who has just booked us for her wedding in 2016, she said that all our weddings look different. We put this down to the creative people that book us, every wedding we shoot really is completely different from the previous one, also we see the day as a collaboration so we work with a brides and grooms on exactly the type of images we will produce. Kirk and Adele wanted us to shoot in a purely reportage style. We probably do this anyway for around 80% of the time at weddings but on this day it was reportage all the way.
We assembled back at The Star Inn where Adele was getting ready, she really did look fantastic and her dress was absolutely perfect for her and the style of the wedding. We kind of expected this if we are honest as the dress was from Isla Jean and they don’t do average dresses. Also Adele is now running the new Bridesmaids at Isla Jean shop that we can almost see out of our gallery window! So check them out if you are after something a bit special for your wedding day.
After the lovely ceremony it was time for the drinks reception and the the wedding breakfast. As you can imagine we get the privilege of eating at lots of wedding venues, I’m always amazed at just how you can cook to a high standard for that many people, this would be our 38th wedding meal of the year (2 more to go!). If we have had a better meal than this though , I can’t remember. The chef and owner of the venue was Michelin stared Andrew Pern who served up his signature dish of black pudding and foie gras, it was great to watch and photograph him and his staff working in the kitchen.
After a the meal there was a slight interlude for a spot of impromptu carol singing then it was straight into the dancing, the dance floor filled up almost immediately and was still full when we left, apparently the party went on well in to the small hours, I guess it would have done this was one fun crowd, It was a real privileged to share Kirk and Adele’s wedding day with them, we wish you and your family all the happiness in the world and we will see you around we are sure of that.
