This weekend we have the privilege of shooting and filming the very romantic winter wedding of Emily & Mitch, possibly the sweetest couple we’ve ever met! We have been chatting and changing ideas about their wedding for a while now and we can’t believe how quickly their wedding came around. As you’ll know if you keep up to date with our blog, we are big fans of Crow Hill and with the AMAZING Red Floral Architecture providing the flowers and marquee dressing we knew we were in for one super special day.
When we got to the venue, the first thing we did was pop into the marquee to get some detail shots of the dressed marquee and wow, we were certainly not disappointed. The place looked so magical and whimsical, good job and massive kudos to Matt at Red! It was then time to go up to Emily and photograph her preparing for the day ahead. When we got there, the final touch-ups were being done by hair & make-up artists Flossy & Leigh. Emily looked stunning, as did the rest of the bridal party. When we’d been there for a couple of minutes we looked across the room and saw the dress…. another WOW moment for us! Emily’s dress was so quirky and elegant, a fairytale number with a special twist.
When Emily put her dress on it really came to life, and then after placement of the veil, we had one prefect bride. All that was left was to get to the church on time! So we set off a little ahead of the bridal party so the wedding ceremony held at St Bartholomew’s Church in Marsden, a really picturesque and grand church fit for the occasion. After the hitching and formal to-dos, Mitch and Emily exited the church, followed by their bridal procession hand in hand to applause and cheers from their friends and family. This special moment was only enhanced by Mitch’s celebratory post-getting-hitched dance moves down the aisle, very Motown Mitch, you got moves dude 😉
Back to Crow Hill then for some romantic style couples’ portraits of the newlyweds, the grounds were just perfect for this, as was the weather! Emily & Mitch got stuck straight in and we admired them for this and for braving the cold, we think it was totally worth it as we got some brilliant shots for them to cherish. We love nothing more than when a couple gets stuck in and creative with us, and basically just trusts us to come up with the goods and produce some awesome images for them- we certainly felt this trust from Mitch & Emily. After the couples’ shoot, bellies were rumbling and it was time for some speeches followed by fabulous food (and a few drinks too of course!). You could just feel the connection between Emily and Mitch and how it brought others together when they entered the room. They are certainly made for each other and you can tell they are soul mates for sure. Mitch’s speech brought a tear even to my eye, I felt in particular that I’d developed a friendship with them over the past 10 months or so, so I got sucked right in to all the emotions of the day!
So enough of the mushy stuff, it was then on to Party Time! The evening guests began to arrive, the first dance was danced and the party was well underway.
We hope you had a truly magical and special day Emily & Mitch, you were a pleasure to photograph and we wish you all the happiness in the world for the future. CONGRATULATIONS!
