Katherine and Richard’s Wedding at Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex

Out last visit to photograph a wedding at Upwaltham Barns this year was tons of fun and a really relaxed affair. We met Katherine in her super lovely “trip advisor” offices in central London a few months previous and it was obvious to see it was going to be a a really lovely day with a warm atmosphere.

Katherine and Richard are both super well travelled and this influence was the theme for the day made evident in the fab table settings In the barn and a list of international friends.

At Upwaltham Barns everything you could possibly need for your day is right there, Jasmine cottage where Katherine was getting ready is really lovely, I could easily live there.

From the cottage you can see out of the windows where Richard was meeting and greeting guests as they arrive. There’s always a buzz in the courtyard this is helped along as ever by Steven behind the bar who’s enthusiasm is infectious ( especially after a few glasses).

After the lovely ceremony in the marriage barn, in which a particular highlight was the newlyweds doing a little dance after the rings were put on, it was time to meet and greet, conteffi and then a little sneak off for some of our trade mark couples shots. We always find different shots at Upwaltham, it changes each time as the seasons come and go. The shots of Katherine and Richard holding the deer skull is one we wanted to do on a recent shoot but couldn’t find the the right skull, so when I saw one on one of the barns outbuildings, well it just had to be done and of course Katherine and Richard didn’t bat an eye to my off the wall request for them to cover their faces with this find.

This wedding was just full of friendly faces , it’s always good to see friends getting together after not seeing each other for too long a time, weddings are great for that it’s a common theme that runs through them all and it’s lovely to witness and to photograph. It’s also worth mentioning Katherine’s French uncle who was a real character, he appears a couple of times in this blog post, see it you can spot him.

We are sure that Katherine and and Richard’s honeymoon will be pretty spectacular, it couldn’t be anything else could it, I hope they leave a useful review on Trip Advisor.
