We had photographed Emma and Kieran a few week previous to their wedding so we knew that they wanted some really informal relaxed images for their wedding at The Plough in Congleton, lucky really because that’s what we love to do the most, especially with a pretty bride and a handsome groom, what could posibly go wrong. Well absolutely nothing as it happens it was a perfect day. Just as they had planned, the venue was perfect for their relaxed informal gathering and all the guests had a great time, well they were having a mass Ceilidh in the venues pretty sunset lit grounds as we left, helped along by the very dapper looking Scottish contingent.
The setting for Emma and Kieran’s ceremony at the Plough is just great, its a historic barn. It didn’t start out life in Cheshire, it was a Welsh barn that was brought brick by brick on constructed on the side of the pub, you would never be able to tell it looked just perfect. I recognised the landladies son as a guest at Sally and Grahams wedding that we shot in Manchester last year, in fact the landlady had one of our images as the screensaver on her computer, its funny how circles are squared isn’t it. It seems to happen to us all the time
The ceremony was vey memorable and full of humour as you would expect from a couple like Kieran and Emma, well the whole day was. Emma looked magnificent and you know what Kieran scrubs up very well too!Just the perfect couple.
After the ceremony we left the guests enjoying the hospitality and sneaked off for 30 minutes to a park just up the road for some couples photos, this is always a lovely time of the day. No matter how relaxed a wedding is there has always been a build up to the day with plenty (too much sometimes!) to do, so just to grab a drink and wander off to be alone for the first time as man and wife is a special time, its lovely for us to share those moments too.
After the lovely meal (Mmmm chicken pie:-) and the speeches in which Kieran got away lightly, which I guess shows just what his best man though of him as a friend i.e he didn’t assassinate him! It was time for a dance as as we said before this happened outside. It was hard to keep up with all the partner swapping and twirling going on. I was right in the middle of it all, it was like being I’m a washing machine, great fun though.
All the best to both Emma and Kieran you are both lovely to be around.
