A really special Standedge Tunnel and Visitors Centre Wedding in Marsden.

I’ve shot approaching 400 weddings now, quite few at Marsden Tunnel Visitors Centre (I’m slowly getting the hang of it!) and genuinely they are all special. They are special because I know what these images mean to people for generations to come. It’s an honour to be part of this lovely process.

It’s also lovely when I continue the journey with people, photographing the babies and children that often follow. Just last week I photographed for the second time Maya who is part of Laura and Craig’s family, they got married a few years ago at Hidden River Cabins . Also last week I got a lovely message from Robyn who got married at Ness Gardens. I’d done an album and framed prints for Alex a surprise wedding anniversary gift. I really get that every wedding is unique and special and that’s how I approach each one.

However when the daughter of someone who has been one of your best mates for over 30 years gets married it does add another layer.

I’ve also known Rebecca, Adele and the families for just as long so it really was joyous to be involved so closely.

I know Rebecca and Adele (and Ivy) have been working away at all the lovely personal touches of this wedding. It does help when Adele is an amazing cake maker and Aunty Jody runs the brilliant Eden Floral Styling doesn’t it.

So really photographically I hit the ground running for the preparation shots as I knew everybody. It continued like that for the whole day too. I’ve also shot quite a few weddings at Standedge Tunnel Visitors centre and I have to say Bev and the staff give everyone a proper Yorkshire welcome. Its super relaxed and really the perfect venue for Dan and Rebecca.

It was great to see the lots of Dans family had made the journey from Mauritius, they came to party too which was lovely.

I hope you all love this set of images, it really was very special to be involved with a family I’ve known and loved for such a long time. I think they really reflect what an amazing day it was for all involved.

Special credits for the food at the wedding must go to Diggle Lock.
