This weekend we had our long awaited return to what is a brilliant place for a wedding, The Crab And Lobster in Thirsk . It seems like such such a long time ago when we first met Sophie and Gareth to discuss their wedding plans. I guess thats cause it is a long time ago now! Lots has happened since then not least the arrival of their son Joshua, who was competing to be star of the show with mum Sophie all day.
Quirky is an overused word these days but it certainly can be applied to The Crab And Lobster, what other wedding venue would have a giant sasquatch guarding the rooms. This huge beast though is just the tip of the iceberg, trust us this place is mad, mad and brilliant. The venue is split over a large site with a pub at the bottom of the hill (great food if your in the area), lots of great accommodation and the ceremony room in the middle with great gardens and at the top a golf course.
Its here at the golf course we met Gareth and his groomsmen enjoying a few games in the morning, the sun was shining too so all was good for the fellas.
At Crab Manor we met Sophie and the bridesmades getting ready, check out these images and hopefully we have portrayed just what a good time they were having and what a great group of close friends they all are and also just how gorgeous Sophie looked in her amazing dress.
After a lovely wedding ceremony in the conservatory it was out in the garden for the guests to enjoy the sun and a catch up with friends and family. It’s often then that we take a walk with the bride and groom, we try to have them back to the party before they are even missed as we did with Sophie and Gareth. There is so much to photograph in the grounds of the Crab and Lobster its a photographers playground, add a good looking fun and stylish couple like Sophie and Gareth and you just know the images ate going to be brilliant.(ok we will let you be the judge if that!)
The guests really enjoyed the food, its always top quality at the Crab, the speeches, well they were approaching top quality, they did raise many a laugh. Its always fun photographing the speeches. Gareths best man had planned and elaborate speech using visual aids but unfortunately the gremlins got in the audio visual works but he did not let this deter him and pulled off a great speech.
When we left the party was in full swing with a packed dance floor, you can tell that this was going to be a hell of a party as the guests were on top form , Gareth and Sophie have a great set of mates, we had fun with them all day, it was just that type of crowd .
Gareth, Sophie and Joshua we wish you all the very best for your future married life, we have a feeling you will have a ball.
Amanda & Tim,
These are absolutely stunning photos, we are over the moon with them. You have managed to capture the magic of the day and the uniqueness of the Crab and Lobster venue. And you have taken care to capture the small details that made the day so special. Both Gareth and I are delighted with the photos and so happy we chose Tim Simpson Photography to share our special day with us. Particularly love the “alcohol and milk” photo, good job I didn’t get those two mixed up!
Amazing. Thank you!
Sophie and Gareth
Thanks Sophie and Gareth, it really was a pleasure to be part of your day. You were both fab and there was so much to photograph, its been a pleasure going through your images, they really make us smile.
