Amanda & Chris’ intimate farm wedding in Strinesdale, on the Saddleworth border

saddleworth wedding photography (1 of 28)This weekend we had the privilege of photographing a beautiful rustic farm wedding right round the corner from our Saddleworth studio! Amanda & Chris have a beautiful home with a lovely big garden and had worked really hard setting up the marquee and the outside to create their very own wedding venue! We just loved this idea, it certainly makes the day more intimate and you could tell that everyone, not just Amanda Chris & the kids, felt right at home.

The day began with very heavy rain, but as the vicar said in the ceremony “the rain strengthens the knot” [of marriage] and the couple didn’t let this get them down. In fact smiles just beamed across their faces the whole day which was lovely to see. We spent a little time with Amanda whilst she spruced herself up (not that any sprucing was needed, she’s a beautiful woman for sure),  whilst the bride and bridesmaids shared some bubbly.

We then headed to the beautiful church of St. Annes, Lydgate for a lovely ceremony conducted beautifully by Reverend Halliday. After the “kiss the bride” came the confetti shot and some lovely portrait images with Chris & Amanda around the area of Lydgate and in the barn that they had set up at the house whilst the Delph Brass Band played away at the bottom of the garden outside the Marquee. The sun then appeared and Son Sam then led the groomsmen in a couple of songs that he played on his guitar which was a lovely moment. Also the beautiful cake is worth a mention, it is made by our friend and local supplier Suzanne at The Frostery. It was then onto some great grub and just enough time to get a lovely romantic sunset shot at the Farm of the pair.

What a lovely day, thanks so much for having us Chris & Amanda and a huge CONGRATULATIONS!
