Ruth and Skips Steam Punk Inspired Wedding at The York Pavilion Hotel

We have been looking to Ruth and Skips steam punk inspired wedding at York Pavilion Hotel now for a long time now, (steam punk is a look we all really love and we got dressed up to match this unique theme!). They are such a wonderful couple it couldn’t have been anything else other than a fantastic wedding.

We first met up with Skip and his groomsmen at  their house in York where we took some photos of them outside looking very dapper. Skip is in the forces and this shows through with his quiet confidence, just the sort of person you need in a pressure situation we should think, one of the reasons he was taking the wedding totally in his stride and looked all set to enjoy the day fully.

At The lovely York Pavilion Hotel (we had been there the week before for Amy and Andrews lovely wedding), Ruth and her Matron of Honour Nicky (thanks for being lovely Nicky, you were fab) were sipping champagne and having their hair done in a beautiful room with lovely natural window light. Ruth is an art teacher and a model so this goes some way to explaining how very pleased we were when she asked us to part of the day, that and she’s a beautiful person inside and out, you just can’t help but like her, she leaves you no other option! She’s super talented and even made the wedding rings herself. There was also Gin and Honey on the tables for everyone that they had made themselves, these were delicious (thanks for the lovely parcel guys!).

With the dress from Lavender and Jude of York on Ruth brought a lump to all our throats, there were a few tears from all in the room, us included.

St Oswald’s Church is literally minutes down the road from York Pavilion and we certainly made use of the lovely grounds afterwards to take some shots of the newly married couple. We then went onto the Millennium Bridge area in York and took some more images there, we even found a random dog to have in the photographs which seems to happen a lot for us these days. We often take props with us, but were glad other people are happy to allow their dogs into a wedding photograph to add a quirky twist.

Back at the hotel the party was in full swing and after the speeches and meal we held a photo booth which went down a storm. We themed the booth with a steam punk influence which people really loved.

A big thanks go out to Kate and Sophie at the York Pavilion you made Ruth and Skips day perfect in every way

Ruth and Skip we send you lots of love, you deserve to be eternally happy and we are positive you will be, you are a perfect couple.xx
