Vintage style wedding photos at the Crow Hill, Marsden wedding of Gemma and Steve

A welcome return to beautiful Crow Hill

A wedding at Crow Hill, Marsden is always a wonderful thing – I’m so lucky to have Crow Hill as my local venue. It’s the perfect place to get beautiful wedding snaps – including the vintage style wedding photos below! It was a few years ago when I met this super relaxed couple at a wedding fair at this hidden away oasis in Marsden and I’ve been looking forward to this day ever since.

A relaxed family affair

I don’t think I’ve ever met a more laid back couple than Gemma and Steve. There simply were no nerves evident during the morning preparations, further evidence that this couple were just made for each other. The feel of this day was warm, friendly and family orientated. Crow Hill is prefect for such a vibe. I say warm, it wasn’t exactly warm considering it’s supposed to be summer! I mean, we are used to a bit of rain over here at the foothills of the Pennines, but this was pretty biblical.

Steve and Gemma were having an outdoor ceremony which I always love. The day had been lovely until about 5 minutes before ceremony time but then the heavens opened and didn’t stop all day. I can’t remember the last time this has happened to me at a wedding – there wasn’t even 5 minutes between downpours. We managed to shoot a range of vintage style wedding photos, despite the downpour! However as a photographer it sort of makes you think outside the box and do shots that you perhaps wouldn’t have done otherwise. Certainly the phrase ‘when you are given lemons, make lemonade’ springs to mind. Of course Gemma and Steve did not let a little dampness spoil the photos or any part of their day – they got stuck right in and we had loads of fun. Fun was certainly the order of the day – Gemma has a real bubbly infectious character and she literally didn’t stop smiling all day.

After the speeches and wedding breakfast Imran and I shot a Photo Booth with was well utilised by the guests – they really got stuck in. After cutting the concrete cake (not always a compliment, but this time it certainly is) it was time for dancing and the party was in full swing as myself and Imran left.

Gemma and Steve, you are simply perfect together, and we hope you are enjoying your road trip as you look at these images and relive a truly unforgettable day.
