We love an intimate mid-week wedding here at Simpson Towers, there is always such a warm friendly family feel. Lucy and Richard’s wedding at The Shireburn Arms Hotel in Clitheroe is just the perfect example. We had not photographed a wedding at The Shireburn Arms before but we hope to do so again, it’s great place set in a beautiful area. For us the Trough of Bowland area of Lancashire is becoming our most visited wedding destination, and why not, it’s incredibly picturesque. Near to the The Shireburn Arms hotel is the gorgeous Eve’s Hall and then just up the road is The Inn at Whitewell (we are there twice in the next 2 weeks).
Richard and Lucy’s day was a part day shoot for us so we had lots to photograph in a relatively short period of time, testing our stealth skills to the max…. and we’re really pleased with the outcome! We felt right at home from the start of the day, this always helps the creative juices flow and we think this warm friendliness is reflected in this lovely set of images. It makes it easier for us, too, when photographing someone who looks as good as Lucy did in her lovely elegant lace dress. She was a real radiant bride.
This was an international wedding with guests coming from all over the world, Richard himself was from Australia, he mentioned in his speech his much-missed son back home in Austrailia which was a really touching moment. Overall, this very special wedding had a very rustic and charming feel to it- what with all the wild flower arrangements, the opulent fruits on the cake, the tea lights twinkling on the tables, the gorgeous natural surroundings and the air of romance and love surrounding the couple and the guests…. it was a photographers dream!
Lucy and Richard we wish you all the very best from us in your adventures to come, thank you for having us along on your wedding journey and allowing us to capture those special moments for you- you are a truly lovely couple with a love for each other that was ever so evident throughout your whole day, what a pleasure it was!
